Thirumagal – A Song That Refuses to Fade
Some songs come and go.Some songs stay.
And then… there are songs like Thirumagal a song that keeps coming back to life.
The Beginning (2019)
The journey began in 2019 just me and VR Beatz, sitting with a vision and a YouTube beat as reference. No big setup, no big expectations. Just raw passion. We built a demo and sent it to Mcry Vedaz. No delays, no overthinking he felt it instantly and sent back his demo vocals the very same day. That moment itself felt like something was aligned.
But life wasn’t easy back then.
It was my post-school phase a time filled with struggles, especially when it came to studio sessions. We didn’t have everything we needed, so Thirumagal stayed as a demo… incomplete, but not forgotten.
The Struggle Phase
At that time, I had just finished school.
Life wasn’t easy.
Studio sessions were hard to afford.
Resources were limited.
So Thirumagal stayed as a demo…
unfinished, but never forgotten.
The Turning Point (18 December 2021)
That day, the song finally found its space. We recorded it at Illegal @ Platinum Studio Production. It
wasn’t just a session it was a moment. I was there with Mark V, Viqnendra (VR Beatz) and Mcry Vedaz. People who believed, people who stayed. My brother Mark V stepped in heavy helping with arrangement, guiding the process, shaping the sound. From there, the track was sent to Boy Radge for mixing and mastering with one of the finest. For me, this wasn’t just another track… it was my first proper studio single. And having my brother
guide me through that journey meant everything.
Once the audio was done, Kumar from Yodeki Shiyu brought visuals to life through the lyric video and posters.
Bringing It to Life (2022)
After the audio was completed,Kumar from Yodeki Shiyu created the lyric video and posters.
And finally…30th April 2022 — Thirumagal was released.
It didn’t go viral.It didn’t “boom.”
But something deeper happened.
The people who listened they felt it. The feedback was real, honest, and positive. And for me, that mattered more. Because this wasn’t even my usual style. I come from boom bap, storytelling roots… but Thirumagal was different. It carried a reggaeton flavor something fresh, something experimental for me.
Then came an unexpected turn.
The Unexpected Rise (2023)
In 2023, I got a call from director Shaswin. He was working on the Malaysian Tamil film Kalluri Rascals, and he wanted Thirumagal to be part of it. That moment felt unreal. A song that once struggled to be recorded… now entering cinema. We agreed.
And on 31st August 2023, the movie was released carrying Thirumagal along with it.
After that, I moved forward, focusing on my album Nyanathin Uthayam –
The Ennealogy Mixtape. Life kept moving, as it always does.
But Thirumagal wasn’t done.
Recognition (2024)
Without me even knowing, VR Beatz submitted the track to the Vimarsagan Awards. Then on 17th May 2024, I received a call from S.P. Saravanan sir. He told me the song had been nominated. Even though it was mainly a music video category, he still gave it a placeand that meant a lot.
We attended the awards on 30th June 2024.
Did we win? No.
But I felt something bigger than winning , I felt growth. This song kept finding
ways to live.
The Phoenix (2026)
And again… in 2026.
I submitted the track to Raagavil Puthu Varavu. This time, it got selected. On 11th January 2026, Thirumagal was on air. We spoke about it again, relaunched its story, gave it new breath.
That’s when I realized something.
Thirumagal is like a phoenix.
It doesn’t stay silent forever.
It rises… again and again… at the right time.
Final Thoughts
I don’t know what more this song will bring.
But I believe in one thing:
God is the greatest writer of this film we call life.
And Thirumagal…
will always be one of the most meaningful chapters in mine.
