Industry Discard Records – A Vision by Marsya & SHIVANZ
Music has always been more than just sound to me. It is memory, pain, healing, and truth. That belief is what led to the creation of Industry Discard Records, a platform built from passion, struggle, and independence. Industry Discard Records was founded by me, Vijeya Agilan, also known as SHIVANZ, together with my long-time collaborator and producer Marsya.
The idea behind Industry Discard Records came from a simple but powerful thought: sometimes the industry ignores voices that carry real stories. Instead of waiting for acceptance from traditional systems, we decided to build our own space and a place where raw creativity, honesty, and independent artistry could exist freely.
Industry Discard Records represents the voices that were once overlooked, the artists who were “discarded” by the mainstream expectations but still had something meaningful to say. The name itself reflects rebellion and resilience. It stands for artists who refuse to give up on their vision, no matter how unconventional or personal their music might be.
From the beginning, our goal was not just to release songs, but to create stories through music. Every project connected to our movement carries a deeper narrative. My music, especially, often reflects personal experiences, life struggles, childhood memories, and emotional journeys.
One of the most personal projects connected to my journey is Nyanathin UthayamThe Ennealogies Mixtape. The mixtape was originally completed in 2019 and later revised before its release in 2025.Fully produced by Marsya, the project explores my life journey from the age of five to twenty-two. It captures childhood trauma, personal growth, relationships, and self-discovery through sound and storytelling. The mixtape includes real-life elements such as my parents’ voices, my ex-girlfriend’s voice, and atmospheric sound design to make every track feel like a chapter of my life.
Through Industry Discard Records, Marsya and I focused on creating music that carries emotional weight and authenticity. Our collaborations have shaped many releases, with Marsya handling production and sonic direction while I focus on lyricism, storytelling, and performance. Together, we aim to build music that stays timeless rather than temporary.
My journey as SHIVANZ has also led to many meaningful releases, including songs like “Thirumagal,” which later became part of the Malaysian film Kalluri Rascals and was nominated for Best Male Singer at the Vimarsagan Awards 2024. Tracks like “Sirai Kaditham,” “Kalaabha Kadhala,” “For the Street,” and “Neram 23:30 P.M.” represent different phases of my artistic evolution.
Industry Discard Records is not just about releases; it is about identity and independence. It allows us to experiment with sound, collaborate with different artists, and build projects that reflect real experiences rather than trends.
For me, Industry Discard Records is a reminder that music does not need permission to exist. It only needs truth.
This label represents the journey of two creators who believed in their craft when nobody else did. And this is only the beginning.
